Grey, Jean was a mutant that goes by the alias Phoenix. She was the cosmic host of the White Phoenix of the Crown. She had a college-level education and had taken courses at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and Metro College. She was 5'6" and weighed about 115 pounds. She had green eyes and red hair.

Telepathy: Grey possesses the ability to read the thoughts of others and project her own thoughts into the minds of others. She is able to use her telepathic abilities on animals with a higher order intelligence, like dolphins, dogs or ravens.
- Telepathic Cloaking: Grey is able to render herself and others invisible by manipulating the mind of others to make them unable to see her.
- Mind Cloaking: Grey can prevent other mutants from being detected by mutant-detecting devices like Cerebro.
- Psionic Shields: Grey can erect psychic shields that protect her mind from other telepaths.
- Telepathic Illusion Projection: Grey is able to make others see and experience things that aren't actually happening.
- Telepathic Camouflage: She can alter her appearance by casting an illusion upon herself and making other people see her as something or someone she is not.
- Mind Control: Grey is able to control the thoughts and actions of others.
- Mental Possession: Grey can possess the minds of others and use their body as her own.
- Personality Alteration: Grey is able to alter the minds of others, therefore changeing a person's personality permanently.

Telekinesis: Grey has the ability to move objects with her mind through the manipulation of psychokinetic energy. She is also able to use her telekinetic ability to levitate herself, stimulate molecules to generate heat, create concussive blasts and erect psychokinetic shields that protect her from harm. Due to having access to the Phoenix Force, she can manipulate matter on a sub-atomic scale.
